As a Safety Manager for Modesto Operations, you will be a leader in development, deployment and continuous improvement of programs and systems that support health and safety excellence at Gallo. You will help foster a culture of proactivity, accountability, engagement and sustainability through robust programs and processes with the primary goal of improving safety culture and fostering and injury free environment. This key role will lead and develop others to ensure the company meets or exceeds regulatory, corporate and industry requirements.
What You Will Do
:Leads creation of site safety and healthtargets and objectives supporting strategic initiatives
:Identifies action:based safetygoals for site leadership team members, functional managers and front:line leaders to support achievement of the site's safetytargets and objectives
:Manages completion of site and workstation:level risk assessments to identify and prioritize safetyaspects and hazards
:Ensures compliance with federal, state and local regulatory agencies and standards
:Responsible for regulatory agency investigations, employee complaints and safety/health assessment audits
:Evaluates existing or emerging environmental health and safety risks, regulatory requirements, standards, and best practices
:Conducts trends analysis and reporting of results against key leading safety metrics
:Build capability of site resources to support implementation of safety programs
:Manages development and maintenance of training processes to ensure that required safetytraining is defined, addresses required content and is tracked to completion
:Leads site efforts to ensure that key safety operational controls are in place and that safety action items are resolved on a timely basis.
:Provides technical support to team leaders and team members
What You Need
:Bachelor's degree plus 5 years of production/operation experience implementing and executing manufacturing health and safety programs which reflects increasing levels of responsibility OR High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution PLUS 9 years of production/operation experience implementing and executing manufacturing health and safety programs which reflects increasing levels of responsibility.
:Working knowledge of general industry safety and health standards (Fed:OSHA, Cal:OSHA), PSM and VPP. Familiarity with EPA, NFPA, ANSI and other regulatory/advisory agencies.
:Knowledge of procedures and practices of occupational Safety and Health and Hazardous Materials management systems.
What Will Set You Apart
:Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety Management plus 8 years of production/operation experience implementing and executing manufacturing health and safety programs which reflects increasing levels of responsibility.
:"Certified Safety Professional" (CSP).
:Safety, Health, Hazardous Materials, Fire or related certifications.
:Familiarity with OSHA, NFPA, ANSI and other regulatory standards
:OHST (Occupational Health and Safety Technician) or ASP (Associate Safety Professional) certification
:Experience with OSHA VPP program requirements and application process
:Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or CIH Certified Industrial Hygienist
