Your Talent and Gallo - A Perfect Pairing.
As a QALab Technicianyou will perform routine chemical and microbiological analysis required for quality control of processes or products. By doing this, you will have an immediate impact on our final product to be delivered to our customer.
What You Will Do
:Perform microbiological analyses using established methods on wine samples from the Modesto Cellar, Modesto Bottling Room, and other Winery departments upon request by QAOS Management
:Prepare microbiological growth media and various solutions needed for microbiological analysis using established protocols
:Sterilize laboratory equipment and instruments used for sample collection and analysis
:Aseptically collect samples from Winery tanks and equipment
:Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory instruments including but not limited to: auto:titrators, refractometers, density meters, gas chromatographs, high performance liquid chromatographs, flow injection analyzers, balances, and turbid meters
:Follow established protocols when responding to issues and escalating to Bottling personnel
What You Need
:High school diploma or State:issued equivalency certificate
:Associates degree in a Natural Science discipline (e.g., Biological Sciences, Chemistry, Material Sciences, Physics, Astronomy, Earth Sciences, Etc.), Enology, or Food Science OR Current enrolled college/university Junior majoring in Natural Sciences (e.g., Biological Sciences, Chemistry, Material Sciences, Physics, Astronomy, and Earth Sciences, Etc.), Enology, or Food Science OR 2 years of experience actively conducting chemical/microbiological analysis OR 2 years of E. and J. Gallo Winery Quality Assurance experience reflecting increasing levels of job responsibility
:Ability to work swing or graveyard shifts when scheduled
:Ability to lift and move equipment weighing up to 45 pounds
What Will Set You Apart
:Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry, Microbiology, or Food Science plus quality assurance laboratory experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.
