Please send the resume to : parthi@majestic-systems.com Sr. Engineer - Process Engineering Food & Beverages Engineering - Process Full-time United States - California - Central Valley - Modesto, Ca Benefits - Full Candidate Experience 7+ to 10 years of experience Management Experience Required - No Minimum Education - High School or Equivalent Willingness to Travel - Often SUMMARY Independently develops and implements production/processing methods, equipment and controls to meet quality and production standards in the most cost efficient manner. Applies comprehensive knowledge of one or more technical disciplines or platforms (e.g. Process, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering) or processes (e.g. Distillation, Filtration, Heat Transfer, Membrane technology, pumping, primarily involving liquid processing of wine) in the Cellar business area. Leads key segments of projects and initiatives and advises/influences organizations as a key member of the team or work group. Trains and guides less experienced staff members. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS - Leads cross-functional teams in designing, implementing and starting-up significant capital projects. - Leads two to three projects simultaneously in the multi-million dollar capital range. - Develops and manages a project schedule for each project. - Develops a cost estimate and manages spending to meet the target for each project. - Develops the Project Request Forms for the project, negotiates the scope of the project with site leadership and supports the project through the approval stage. - Develops the Process Flow diagrams, Plot plans, Piping and Instrument diagrams, Equipment specification requirements, Equipment sizing, Equipment list, and performance requirements for a project. - Works with the Supplier Development department to write equipment specifications, obtain competitive quotes from suppliers, select the appropriate supplier, purchase and occasionally expedite equipment orders. - Manages resources to oversee the construction phase of the project. - Manages resources to oversee the startup, commissioning and validation of the system deliverables and success criteria. - Communicates the status of each project with site leadership and management on a regular basis. - Recommends and implements improvements or modifications in sequence of operations, equipment utilization, and related matters. - Monitors assigned areas of operations to assure compliance with approved methods and quality standards. - Conducts research and analytical studies to develop design or specifications for products. - Confers with research team members and other engineers to clarify and resolve problems; prepares design modifications as appropriate. - Directs and coordinates activities of project personnel to ensure project progresses on schedule and within prescribed budget. - Monitors and ensures achievement of goals, objectives, and timelines. - Trains and develops others in technical complexities of assigned work. - Responsible for understanding and complying with applicable quality, environmental and safety regulatory considerations. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - Bachelor's degree in Engineering plus 5 years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment OR 9 years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment. - Experience managing capital projects. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS - Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering plus 8 years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment. - Master's degree. - Experience in the Food and Beverage Industry with liquid processing, Good Manufacturing Practices and cleaning procedures. - Skilled in applying comprehensive knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures in one or more technical discipline (e.g. electrical engineering) or platform, and one or more business area (e.g. warehouse) or process (e.g. filtration). - Experience reading, analyzing, and interpreting common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. - Experience responding to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. - Experience writing speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. - Experience effectively presenting information to top management. - Skilled in the use of MS Project at an advanced level; MS Word, MS Excel and MS PowerPoint at an intermediate level. - Skilled in applying advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations. - Skilled in applying mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis. - Experience defining problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. - Experience interpreting an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. - Experience working with all levels and functions within the company. - Skilled in team building, leadership and mentoring.
